The ReproMED project is part of an ongoing exploration of the use of
information technologies to educate, advise and assist healthcare
professionals, medical students and patients. ReproMED builds on a prize
wining M.Sc dissertation including a prototype infertility information
system produced by Judy Loveridge in the department of Computer Science at
the University of Sheffield. With the support of an award from the
University of Bristol's Continuing Vocational Education fund between
October 96 and October 97 this prototype system has been considerably
developed and enhanced. Authored primarily in Asymmetrix Toolbook by
Helene Missou while based in the Institute for Learning and Research
Technology, ReproMED now provides an educational resource on infertility
of use to professionals and medical students, with interactive elements
and links to the Internet. The Centre for Reproductive Medicine provided
the content that was prepared for inclusion in ReproMED by Dr Raj Mathur.
The project was under the overall guidance of Mr Julian Jenkins.
A formal evaluation report of the project prepared in November 1997 is
provided on the ReproMED website. There is no fee for non-profit making
educational use of the ReproMED programme. However, after reading the
evaluation report and trying out the programme we would be grateful if you
evaluation report and trying out the programme we would be grateful if you
could provide feedback using the bulletin board set up on the website. In
the next phase of ReproMED we wish to consider developing the project to
provide education and information accessible via the Internet. We would
welcome suggestions on the bulletin board how the project could be
improved and developed.
