In Thanet there was a Practice vacancy which the Health Authority was unable
to fill and which then became the subject of a PMS pilot. The local
community Trust wished our GP out of hours Co-op to provide ... guess what?
Anyway, our "Articles" clearly stated that membership was only open to GPs
on the FHSA principals list and we were then asked to change this so that
.......... I'm sure you get the picture :-)
A change to the Articles requires a special resolution at a General Meeting
and this was held last week. Company law states that for a special
resolution to be passed it must gain 75% of the votes cast.
The motion to change the wording to admit salaried GPs was passed with
nobody voting against.
Therefore 100% of those who voted were in favour of admitting such Doctors
to EKDOC.
The Health Authority and the Community Trust were delighted.
That which wasn't quite so apparent was that only 15 members turned up!
Only nine of them voted!!
The rest abstained!!!
What's the score Ahmad?
So far I've seen one contributor voting (I think) "No" to the PCG Ballot
question and he isn't a GP. What message are we supposed to take from this
situation? There are several on this list clearly in favour of the PCG
scenario. Why aren't they voting - either way?
So far - 100% of GPs who voted on gp-uk are in favour of holding a national
ballot upon the question of whether or not PCGs should be implemented!!!!
Apologies for bit of double spacing :-)
