Am inclined to take a far a more sanguine view. PCGs per se no problem, for
those who are keen. As for the last Nationalised bolthole for crappy
managers the NHS nuf said! :-(
>On the one hand you complain that rationing occurs, and on the other

I'm sure you may well agree that this must be a *national* issue argued by
society and politicos and not be landed on small PCGs so whether you get an
op or not depends on your post code!
>On the one hand you complain that you are not represented, and on
>the other you insist that nobody who is elected can represent you,
>and insist on neither electing anyone to represent you, or having

>your opinion, you object to the workings of the PCG being exposed to
>the public or your peers
Stuff that Adrian, what I would like to see is a ballot of GPs on PCGs no
more, no less. If those elected once empowered (I'm well aware of that
feeling that the troops aren't behind you) by this ballot then negotiated
from a position of strength on PCGs, we may have a result? ;-)
>You complain about the organisation, the constitution of the PCGs,
>and yet you refuse to participate in setting up an organisation and
>constitution that will satisfy you -
*Refuse to participate* do you mean I have a choice? Someone (!!) once said
on this list that whatever you wished to do in GP is fine (other than carnal
knowledge of patients) but don't foist it upon all of us. That goes for
PCGs, EBHC (woops flak jacket ;-), Computerisation, whatever.
>You are in general denying the legitimacy of anyone elected or
>selected to run things for their peers - and yet, you sign yourself
>as medical manager of a co-op.
I don't think anyone would argue that our elected leaders are doing a good
job? Are they?
<already answered snip>
>I might add that I ssuspect you do a good job and enjoy the support
>of your colleagues, but why do you think the rest of us are greatly
>different.
I would very much doubt whether there was any difference but why then is not
everyone screaming from the rooftops that their liberty is being infringed?
Does everyone *want* this? Should we not know this by ballot?
Adrian, please wake up ;-) why *must* this be an obligatory thing? Does any
PCG want a crowd of people like me, unwilling participants. Doesn't it put
the fear of God into you as to WTF we would do?
