You might well suspect that, but if you examine the evidence it
seems to be more like 80% of our work.
Toby will have the reference to hand, no doubt.
Of course one can wander off into the goodness of the evidence....
demonstrating that we all assess the relevance of reported work and
the degree of similarity of our patient to the trial or other study
population even if we do it fairly intuitively.
Evidence for cough, colds, verrucas, counselling, duodenal ulcers
leg ulcers, post-coital contraception, asthma attacks, immediate
antibiotics for earache, all seems useful and applicable to our
work, and it is nice to have evidence that there is less rush than
some might think in some of those conditions...
