This begs the question when is a consultation not a consultation?
How do we define consultation?
Collins Dictionary defines consult as:
"to ask advice from (someone); confer with (someone)........ to make
oneself available to give professional advice...."
Consultation is defined as:
"the act or procedure of consulting"
To say that telephone advice is not viable in the light of IT development
seems rather strange. Why have all GP Practices connected to the NHS Net if
anything other than face en face contact is deemed invalid and not
reimbursable?
I feel a Monty Python style sketch coming on where all patients who could
be dealt with by phone or letter are forced to come to the surgery, wait 3
weeks for an appointment, take on 12 new partners to deal with said
workload etc. etc.
Happy days :-)
