Business case:
Hence the pharmacist will get reimbursed on the basis of the drug tariff
price, yes?
Hence the drug tariff price is on the whole the cheapest, yes?
Therefore Pharmacist profit = tariff price - retail price, yes?
Hence pharmacist are running businesses and not, on the whole, in
existence to subsidise the NHS or make a willful cut to their profits
and income:
Therefore, to maximise profit, minimise retail price, yes?
(irrespective of colour, taste, or other 'soft' parameters that don't
make business sense).
Some pharmacists, I am sure, are so altruistic and don't worry too
much about profit margins that the above argument will not apply to
them, yes? ;-)
