I agree entirely with this if only that one might have a better appreciation
of pain or disability levels from the various ills we try and manage. I
recently suffered a tiny avulsion fracture after falling on my flexed right
wrist and ended up in POP splint. Lots of people were sympathetic and
enquired about my ability to write, drive, etc. while some made the
predictable remarks about RSI's!
Of course I was far too polite to say "I can write and drive fine, thank
you, but have you ever tried wiping your backside with your left hand?"
To all those of you who are right-handed I would suggest you try it - gives
a whole new perceptive on life and people with their right wrists in plaster
:-)
