I'm exploring the continuous speech recognition software market. The 2 main
choices seem to lie between IBMs Via Voice Gold and Dragon Dictate
Naturally Speaking. I want a continuous speech format not discreet text.
The main reason to get it, is to see if with the neccessary investment of
time and money, whether less motivated partners than myself could use such a
system for dictation of hospital referral letters etc. This would be with a
view to freeing up secretarial time to do other more skilled tasks. I
anticipate the secretary may still need to tidy up letters etc that we have
dictated but hopefully still a net overall saving of time. Via Voice Gold
does have a medical dictionary available. I'm not aware if Naturally
Speaking does yet.
All comments gratefully received.
