Now in MY day the St Mary's three-quarter line was almost exclusively
county players, and I believe also had one JPR Williams, of no small
talent. Even in the 3rd XV..(drinking), we had a hell of a job getting
into their half.
I applied to Med School before the days of UCCA, and all interviews
seemed to be held by large, often Scots, rugby playing Deans. they
always..(this is true, I swear it).. asked what (Rugby) position I
played in. All, that is, except St Mary's, who asked me to fill out an
"intelligence test". Needless to say I wasn't offered a p[lace there!
