Anyone know this chap? Address, phone no, email?
Apparently he's testing portable EMIS on a Psion.

Actually I think you are wrong here - they download the whole practice
database onto a 4 megabyte Psion 3a, and split this file in a commercial
database. The download consists of a set of patient details BPs, medication,
last couple of consults etc. He gave a presentation at the '96 EMIS NUG
Conference. They use it as a 'Read Only' databse - for info on-call, and make
no effort to write inofrmation back to the EMIS database. Portable EMIS uses
MSM Mumps, and would not run on a Psion. If you want portablility and Portable
EMIS, I would suggest looking at a Toshiba Libretto 50CT - have just purchased
2 from Technomatic for this purpose, and seem to be lovely machines - at
699.00 UKP + VAT - Libretto coming out in 2 other versions - the 70CT (120mhz
processor) , and the 100CT (?? 166mhz processor). The 70CT can be found for
around 1089.00 UKP + VAT, and as yet the 100CT doesn't seem to be available.
The screen is very good on them, but make sure that you can live with this and
the keyboard prior to purchase.
