Dear Ahmad,
I sympathise with the idea's.
I see the problems we (in both countries) face.
They (the politicians, the money providers) try to control us using the
tactics they know, using the instuments they know.
So they re-organise and change things.
And since they control through changing economics they want to believe that
Health Care can be treated the same way as any other market.
It is my believe that Health Care is not an ordinary economic market.
It's dealing with people and not a product from any shelf.
So I agree with you for 100%
On the other hand. The freedom you demand has an other side of the same coin.
Since Health Care is a relative scarce expensive commodity we - the
physicians- should dispense this commodity with care. It demands that we do
the sensible things in a sensible way, in an accountable way. This must be
a priority.
Only if we succeed to prove that we are sensible and accountable the
community will give us the freedom we need to function.
It demands a pro-active attitude of the physicians and their representing
bodies.
This is more ore less the policy of my Dutch GP-organisation.
We have quality programs plus programs to cut costs and as a result we get
more influence and our income is not in discussion (yet! - I allways
distrust government)
So sign me up.
Greetings
