I am not Lester. I don't think he was saying that---I took it as a
comment on our sad situation in GP, ground down with work and admin and
unable (mostly) to look up or look forward.
Example: GPs in a nearby town may lose the local A/E, it has been rumoured
for years. That would greatly increase their work but what are they doing
about it? Very little. If we don't look ahead we can expect to get
screwed.

Of course it does and some of them are my friends but it is exceedingly
difficult to get things done with clarity, focus and speed by committee.
It is in the nature of the beast and is true no matter what business you
are in. The GMSC made itself an easy target back in 1990 with its refusal
to accept the democratic will of those it represents and it has not yet
recovered from that. More recently it has forgotten about isolated rural
GPs doing awful on-call rotas and it has to accept some abuse for that.
