Hello In regards to PLEASE HELP A FRIEND why don't we discuss this in a
friendly manner and get a discussion on this. I had just been in touch
with a few of you through my genealogy research and was happy to make some
internet friends. I wasn't offended at all by this and matter of fact I
thought this was a very nice thing to do for a friend in need. Every time I
turn my computer on there is another porno ad, another advertisment trying to
sell something or just surfing the net it is one advertisement after
another one. I can always just push the delete or mouse button. Every time I
turn the T. V. on same old thing. Over half my phone calls, they are trying
to sell me something. We do get upset with it at times but that goes with
progress. I even enjoy it sometimes when I go into the grocery stores and eat
the samples.
Now for the rest of the story! I have lived in 3 states in my life [which has
been a few moons] and the life style has been different in all of them. I
lived my first 13 years in W.Va and for the past 5 years I spend most of the
year there. The life style is different and I think it is because of our
upbringing or whatever we may call it. It seems like it is just the natural
thing for people to help someone in need. I was brought up by my parents to do
help each other in need and I have been taken but I still do it. My parents
were both from large families and maybe that is why if there is sickness or
death you will get help if you need it. I believe if you help someone in
need it will come back to you tenfold. I am not saying everyone should
help this person for that is your right to give or not to give. My point
is putting that out on the internet was a way of trying to help someone
and tomorrow could be the day we may need the help.
I know this is long but I have to tell this story. My Dad went one Sunday
afternoon to a affair to make up money for a cancer patient that didn't have
medical insurance. Dad was 75 at the time [in 1977] and he got the date
mixed up and went on the wrong Sun. so he just went to the home to give him
money. That night Dad got very sick and before noon the next day they was
doing surgery. He had a cancerous tumor as large as a football and we thought
we was going to lose him. Dad was in the hospital for a month but lived
another 19 years. The moral of the story is we dont know what tomorrow
brings. We could be the one that needs help and if you do West Virginia is
the one place I am sure you would get it.
It seems like everyone knows everyone in most of those communities and
related to a lot of them. I would like to hear what everyone else
thinks. wnev924.aol.com
