Come on you two,
You know this is paltry reasoning. The DVLA is depending on
smear tactics and will succeed if we fail to resist. For quite
a while now I have been sending back a standard letter telling
them of the appropriate fee. That has been following a couple
of times by a further letter from the DVLA asking if I could
possibly photocopy the relevant articles for the same fee! I
have ignored those.
Whenever it has come up with any of my patients I simply tell
them we (GPs) are in dispute with the DVLA over fees and that
this dispute will not affect their licence. It is not our
responsibility to subsidise the driving licence system in this
country, which is what we do if we accept inadequately paid work
