<<MMR has been a fantastic success, saving lives and serious illness,
reducing
the thousands sick children and so our work-load, reduced sleepless
night/days
off work/ stress on parents and cost to society generally. Why are we not
shouting this from the roof-tops? The only classical childhood viral
illness I
see now is chickenpox and that might be vaccinated against within 5
years.>>
Same here----saw one case of textbook measles a few years back, did the
saliva antibody test and lo! it wasn't measles at all!!
At least patients in my area are nearly all true believers in
vaccinations----if the cards for the next session get held up we always
have one or two in asking why the kid has not been called. Good eh?
Your question? AH, sorry-----we are not broadcasting it because we don't
broadcast anything good about ourselves in our stupid profession. In this
day and age when the morons are taking over the airwaves, it is about time
that some intelligent folks got up there and told people what is happening
in GP. My RCGP faculty (N Ireland) had the right idea on this in that
they used some spare cash to give some members media training but training
is one thing, the fire in the belly that drives you to phone up the
journalists and give them stories cannot be taught. I think it can be
caught but that';s on a different course, not approved for PGEA at this
time....
Rant mode off
