I don't want to start another tirade about what passes for journalism in
London these days but I think even Midge will have to admit that the above
deduction would require somewhat more intelligence than is necessary to do
a journalism course. That said, it also demonstrates the persisting,
underlying and by now almost subliminal aversion to vaccination which is so
common in the UK. Any possibility of a vaccination problem is leaped on and
blasted all over the airwaves while careful consideration of the facts
is left for another day. I recently had a massive correspondence with an
anti-vaccine person on Compuserve----he was quite a decent soul but seemed
to start with the premise that vaccinations were bad until shown to be
good. Knew absolutely nothing about the most basic concepts of immunity
but at least was willing to learn.
How do we educate the mejia folks? I must work harder.....
