This is a huge, unresolved and desperate issue. Wee have 2 GPs near her
out full time with stress. Out of hours for us is a nightmare - we
provide *all* the medical cover for *all* the people - our list is not
far off 6000 and on a summer Sunday the population is about 26,000.
The nearest next practice is half an hours drive away (on a good day-
much worse in the Summer) - so a co-op is unfaesible (+the DGH is an
hour away - too far for the bad asthmatics/MIs/fitters/meningitics etc)
Something needs to be done.
Do you want to liaise and we can start banging this drum a bit louder.
Oh, and for all you townies that secretly resent dispensing ruralites -
we don't do it.
Cheers. :)
