I use Eudora for email. I used to have Outlook set up for mail as well and
used it as my browser mailer. However, I've given that up as a bad job
because if Outlook was 'up' more times than not the carrier to my ISP would
get dropped after a few seconds. Recently, I deleted the 'internet mail'
from the services so that I could use Outlook more effectively, it still
disconnects me on occasions immediately after verifying my password though
not as bad as it used to be.
I have no intention of trying to find out why this is. Why? Eudora, Outlook,
Win 95, the modem and the ISP and others are all involved in this
transmission so you will never get a straight answer from any of them. It
would be a waste of time. Computing has become something you have to live
with and matters are not improving. This is not a defeatist attitude but
reality I am afraid.
