Profit margins on the server and ports are probably way too high.
See if you can get your own server and ports. Shop around.
I would expect to pay under a grand for the server you describe above,
not sure about superposrt prices but 1200 pounds still sounds like a
lot.
If they won't allow you to buy the server yourself, see if you can
persuade them to supply the hard disk with the software installed then
fit into a machine minus disk of your choice. This is what I did when
installing V*****. The only hardware that I allow Vamp to support is the
server.
If you don't know how to install the hard disk (Vamp engineer should do
