about "Patient Results".
Feasible enough.
We put the smear results in the alphabet box at Reception.
We hand the form to the patient.
They have been given their result in writing. (well, I assume a
good round hand with a quill pen is not required)
Most of them choose to give them back to us to file intheir paper
records.
Those who don't can rest assured that our computer system contains a
copy of that record.
If they sit there for too long we eventually post them. It is
cheaper than answering the phone or recording that the result has
been given to them.
When we ditch the computer we will print them all out and file them
again, or perhaps we will dump that info into the patient's single
marked up document where it can be distributed through the practice
and searched efficiently.
I havn't made up my mind yet.
