We've had QuietJets in our (Meditel System 5) surgery , still working
reliably after 6 years (short time by comparison with some)! Recently
started shifting to Panasonics which (unlike your experience Dinesh) work
very well, albeit a bit more noisily, but much faster than the QJ's.
Problem is getting the printer control files to work just right. A lot of
them wind the paper beck just slightly too little, and you're left with the
tear-off perforations a couple of millimetres above the tear-off bar after
the script has printed, particularly with the PC terminals (ICE-10 printing
through icpa in site QA215 in case you're listening Ewan)
I agree that A4 single sheets are the way of the future, particularly as we
have ambitions on printing out reasonably good quality advice sheets in our
consulting rooms, and can only do it in the present regime by installing
another parallel port and page printer in our rooms; expensive, messy, and
too many different bits to go wrong!
