Thanks Jon
I've used two systems in my time Meditel and latterly EMIS.
In the former it used to be the case that to enter a code directly one had
to prefix the entry with a full stop or comma. Under those circumstances I
would have expected < .SHy > to output "Burns OS" but this facility doesn't
seem to be possible with EMIS and the only codes one can enter direct are
those that begin with a number rather than an alphabetic character.
I hate to admit it but I feel really ignorant about the terminology of the
different Read versions and I suspect many EMIS users are because our
software reports using "Read Version 5.2c" How does that fit in with your
description of 4 or 5 byte sets, versions 2 or 3?
If I really did have someone with Shy-Drager syndrome how on earth would I
code it (neglecting the fact that you've told me the alphanumeric) because I
can't get past the first three letters without generating an error beep!
Is there a Read code HAy that doesn't lead to "Hay Fever" or WRy that
doesn't give you a stiff neck :-)
Cheers
Peter
