Oh come now Midge! Nobody is saying, except me, that they shouldn't have been
invented. The objection many of us have is that now ABPI rules are stricter,
GPs ever less responsive to reps plus HAs increasing downward pressure on
prescribing, increasingly drug companies are trying to generate pt pressure to
prescribe by cleverly placed media stories. This trend will only worsen with
time and is iniquitous. There should be ABPI rules about this too, at least.
How about the DTB or MEREC writing an article on this?

I have been watching the public domain scientific and medical media
for several years, and tracking the progress of a useful class of
compounds which were known to have action on one of the pathways
involved in a common disease for which existing treatments were
moderately effective and which causes considerable inconvenience and
discomfort and lost productivity to large numbers of people.
I am very pleased to see it is now available as a prescribable
treatment.
On average I expect users of e-mail on lists like this to be better
informed and less likely to tolerate censorship, and support freedom
of information than the general public, or doctors as a whole.
