What Students are these? Opinions I've heard expressed go a bit more like
this...
Hospital Medicine is not what it used to be - New Deal for Juniors hours
hasn't come up with the goods, overtime pay is pathetic, but lots of
overtime about. Consultants leaning on juniors to work more than they
really want to "You do want a reference - don't you?". NHS looks set to
demand resident on-call from Consultants by the time we get there, etc. etc.
General Practice on the otherhand, are getting themselves sorted out. OOH
comittment reduced to next to nothing, Primary Care Groups seem set to put
decision making at "grass roots" levels.
For the 1st time in our memories, GP seems like quite a good option...
