Development costs are a very intangible matter and potentially of great
dispute. As they are not bricks and mortar, then you will effectively be
asking for a gift of good will. These are illegal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Subject: Re: Parity deals
This thread seems to have generated a large amount of interest but I
still fail to understand why there is a resistance to accepting that in
joining a Practice it is unreasonable to ask the New Partner to
contribute a reasonable amount to the development costs of the
business.
No-one seems to be saying that new partners should be joining on Full
parity from day one, so what is the rationale of having new Partners
join on a part share?.
I feel 50% and parity after 3 years is fair, others feel 80% and Parity
after 12 -18 months is fair. Surely we are on the same side of the
argument we just put different values on the development cost of our
individual practices.
