BMA suggests charging £7.
I suppose if they are unjustified one should charge at
least double.
Mine tend to have "requiring these is an abuse of an overstretched NHS"
across the bottom, but since the sole purpose of them is
for uncaring (hence no occupational health arrangements)
employers to cause their ill or otherwise employees extra
difficulties I doubt that anyone other than said employees
takes any notice of them.
But some of these uncaring employers really will sack their genuinely ill
employees if they don't produce these worthless notes - and we look as
uncaring by demanding the going rate for what we know is worthless
certification. Another lose/lose situation.
Mentioning the names of employers in public fora such as
GP-UK might be helpful, but since the most prone one to
demand such paperwork regardless of statute or sense is one
the management practices, culture and defficiencies thereof
of which all readers of this list are already adequately
apprised, I don't suppose that would be useful either.
No but it would be fun! Especially since some of the offenders are firms
that would publicly say they never did, like one of the local government
offices round here, and even one of the healthcare employers (that later
became a trust).
