I totally agree. I must admit that despite early scepticism, I see the
future as salaried practices, with much more part time working than at
present.

I think the greediest s***s I have known in GP are those who cannot
conceive of doing anything else for their living BUT have little or no
sense of vocation or service. "They" would of course look down on anyone
who takes on any other work. As for going part-time?? Well you're not
really a GP anymore are you, old boy?
Yet I see flexible working, part-time, combinations of jobs etc as the only
hope of survival for GP.
