Unresolved dispute with partner in the morning.
Three requests for home visits in the evening
(during surgery, of course):
1. for a 2yo with temp not controlled by paracetamol
mum would bring him in but two other choldren to look
after.
2. paraplegic with indwelling catherter - pyrexia,
blood draining around catheter, hallucinating because
of fever, catheter changed by urologist in A&E a few days
ago, still on coamoxiclav - I *know* he needs to be in hospital
and I can't face the "20 questions" I'll get off the RSO,
3. call from a father who's just got in from work to find
the the ten-year-old son who's been looked after by his gran
all day has been feeling "weak" and is now sleeping. When I suggest
that he brings him the short distance (< half mile) to the surgery,
I'll told that all the doctors at the surgery are useless and then
he hung up. Charmed, I'm sure.
So, at 1745h, having rushed through evening surgery, I set off
for visit #2. Spend 20 minutes there (2 mins assesssing pt, 18 minutes
talking to RSO, trying to het through to amb control, booking amb)
Get to visit #2. Child no worse than many of the children I've been
seeing all day.
Get home 46 mins later than usual. Dogs popping all over the kennell.
Walk dogs. Wait for wife to come home. Working later than me!
