Our co-op bulk purchased aural thermometers- reduced the cost significantly.
I agree with all your persuasive reasons, especially the latter!:)

Like many of you I never took a temperature for years - but several of
our co-op members persuaded me that for
1) Relationship and Communication reasons
2) Medico legal reasons
3) Patient expectations
4) Houseman expectations in the case of an admission
and MOST IMPORTANT
5) Someone BOUGHT me the new toy!
So now I start every consultation at the co-op with Temp.from the ear ,
Pulse, & BP. It allows me something to do when I'm lost away from the
surgery without my computer. While I'm talking to the patient and much
more important - thinking what to do next (the real reason we all
examine patients - Isn't it ?).
As the man says 'It looks very impressive on the Co-op returns'
