According to our new Prof of Respiratory Medicine here in East Yorks, who
has actually made a study of cough, there are only two worthwhile
antitussives. One is menthol, which appears in all sorts of proprietaries.
The second is dextromethorphan which is to be found in only one preparation
in full therapeutic dose, I think 40mg /5mls, called Tussana, a Boots own
brand.
