Envious of you practices installing your CAT 5 cabling and your NT
networks....but...
Has anyone with a "proper" PC network (as opposed Emis dumb terms) have any
figures as to cost of ownership. All those extra things to go wrong,
settings to mess up, extra kit to fail training, routers, hubs, printer
costs, etc.etc.
Emis quoted us about 13K for a 4000 patient practice to get to a mostly NT
network, just 3 dumb terms at reception. ISDN/NHSnet costs as extra, however
I suspect that there are hidden recurring costs.
Has anyone added up the real figures ? If not could those just switching
across collect the evidence as it would inform the reimbursement debate.
