A good rep
* Treats me like a person not a potential buyer
* Knows their material and its limitations - and is honest about them
* Has brought the references with them so doesn't promise vaguely to send them to me later
* Has a genuine but realistic enthusiasm for their product
* Doesn't slag off the opposition
* Understands that I can't remember if I've seen them before
A bad rep
* Glosses over the weaknesses in their studies and/or tells outright lies!
* Tries to give you glossy leaflets when you want to see the research
* Knocks the competitors rather than promotes their product
* Talks about their sales figures
* Criticises colleagues eg GPs - thinking that we'll join in
* Talks about "GP land"
