RESEARCH ASSISTANT(S)
Jackson Environment Institute / Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis (UCL)
The London Environment Programme is being developed at University College
London in order to provide a framework for research in support of those who
make or implement environmental policy in London or who are affected by it,
whether in government, commerce or as members of London’s population. The
primary purpose of the London Environment Programme is to link together
users and providers of environmental knowledge in new and more productive
partnerships. Within the programme, two RA posts are now available:
Post one: Research Assistant in GIS - Environmental Information System
Annual salary of £ 15, 462- £17,266 + £2,134 London Weighting
(1 October 1998 - 31st July 1999 with possibilities of future extension)
Post two: Research Assistant in GIS - London’s brownfield resource
Annual salary of £15,462- £21,436 + £2,134 London Weighting
(1 October 1998 - 31st July 1999 with possibilities of future extension)
CLOSING DATE: 28th September 1998
For both positions, the successful candidate will demonstrate excellent
knowledge of desk-top/internet GIS and be able to communicate effectively
with team members and external partners. It is envisaged that the
successful candidates will have an undergraduate or postgraduate
qualification in GIS and proven ability in the areas of data analysis and
dissemination. Applicants with experience in the environmental sciences are
encouraged to apply.
