Anna,
Take a look at the current issue of Teaching Tolerance, published by
the Southern Poverty Law Center. This issue is all about multicultural
issues in schools. The cover story is an interview with a researcher
whose work it ethnographically based, and my recollection is that there
is a list of further reading appended to that article. I'm sorry I
don't remember the researcher's name--I read the journal at home over
the weekend and don't have it here to refer to. But I was impressed by
the content, and I expect you could finds sources in it that would be
useful.
Teaching tolerance is usually well worth the read.
