Just a couple of remarks, here.
First, Just about all UNIX systems I'm aware of have prof/pixie;
it's not limited to DEC.
Second, regarding performance testing on NT or Windows machines,
since nobody here really seems to know, perhaps the originator
of the query could take this up with DEC; they are said to
have excellent support for DVF. The response could then be
summarized to the list.
Finally, if for some reason the originator does not have
support, he/she ought to ask the question on comp.lang.fortran.
Steve Lionel, one of the engineers associated with DVF, monitors
that forum and often replies to queries involving DVF
(as well as to more general Fortran issues).
