What 10 works in political economy, published in the past 15 years, would
you recommend to someone returning to the topic after a break from formal
study of this length?
(I nominated just two: Farjoun & Machover's "Laws of Chaos" [Verso, 1982 --
so a bit of cheat], and Kay & Mott's "Political Order and the Law of
Labour" [Macmillan, 198?]. For present purposes I would add Freeman &
Carchedi's "Marx and non-equilibrium economics" [Edward Elgar, 1996]. All
dates from memory, so not vouched for...)
