                   ATTENTION ALL APOSTLES OF ERUDITION!
                      SUPER-DOOPER PUBLISHING EVENT!
                          _1650-1850_ AVAILABLE!

Something amazingly wonderful has happened! The long-
awaited fourth volume of _1650-1850_: Ideas, Aesthetics, and
Inquiries in the Early Modern Era_ has been released by AMS Press
and is now available for order! The largest, nay, most colossal
volume to date, the 445 pages of volume 4 contains 17 essays,
three introductions, two special-issue essay ensembles, thirteen
book reviews, eighteen illustrations, and a comprehensive index.
As truly interdisciplinary serial and the only one that covers
every aspect of the entire "long" eighteenth century from every
possible critical perspective, _1650-1850_ is, in volume 4, once
again offering a sweeping panorama of contemporary seventeenth-
through early nineteenth-century scholarship. From Simon Varey's
opening essay on sips of coffee and chocolate to Todd Parker's
contribution on Swift's expulsions of scatology, the volume
digests everything from Whichcote's aphorisms to Shelley's
vegetarianism. Worthy of special applause are Deann DeLuna's
apecial feature on the 25th anniversary of the publication of
_Poems on Affairs of State_ (replete with major essays by the
likes of James Winn, Stephen Zwicker, and Michael McKeon) and
James Thorson's exploratory special feature on the "New
Tradition" in Swiftian scholarship (loaded with essays by such
skillful hands as Frank Boyle, Louise Barnett, and Robert
Mahoney).
A complete table of contents follows below! Orders for this
important volume may be placed with AMS Press of New York at
(212) 777-4700 / FAX (212) 995-5413 / postal 56 East 13th STreet,
New York, New York, 10003. Be sure to ask about SPECIAL DISCOUNT
PRICES FOR INDIVIDUAL (as opposed to institutional) PURCHASERS
AND SUBSCRIBERS. And thank you all for supporting this ever-
growing publishing project!
