cris, who's rushing off somewhere, posted the following message to me by
mistake. He has asked me to forward it to the list, so I am acting as mere
electronic link.
Hi all,
coming back to the grindingboard here to find vitriol breaking out
on lists both here and in the US. Shit flying. Bites wagging dogs.
Doug, I'm in agreement that these are relatively 'hollow times',
but that implies times which were-are less hollow. I can't think
of any examples? Help me out guv'.
I'm mindful of the fact that there is a rogue Nicholas Johnson
on the roam and that confirms my suspicions as to the proliferation
of cloning not only of poetics but it seems of poets to boot. To whit,
how can I tell the real Nic Johnson from the 'rogue'? Any hints on
early robot detection systems avaiulable on mail order from Tandy's
would be most welcome.
Andrew Duncan, as allegedly reported, is confirmed as not having yet been
awarded the accolade of 'God', he'll just have to keep taking the tablets
and breathing in that angel exhaust.
Some people(s) are apparently considered to be responsible users of weapons
of 'mass destruction', some people are considered to be responsible enough
to purchase weapons of 'mass destruction' from those responsible enough to
use them wisely. Some people are considered in need of being 'degraded',
some people take it upon themselves to prosecute such degradations. Some
are considered to be liars and hypocrites when they use and abuse terms of
'mass creation' into manipulated concensus. I am reminded of the late
anarchist poet Daniel Davidson, who wore a badge simply saying 'IRAQI'
around San Francisco throughout the Gulf War.
Some people are arbiters of honesty and upholders of civilised values and
keepers of the absolute measures for said same, some don't agree
wholeheartedly with them and are damned. Some people have a clear sense of
the dividing lines between public and private action, private and public
criticism, publate and privic opinion. Privet? Some would have us always
expressing our yeahs and nays or forever holding the pieces we have fallen
from disgrace into and turn this reading into a lobby. Some would rule
through the chair, by committee, but take unilateral action whenever
necessary or when the swing of opinion or the speed of the consensual
arrival is not to their suiting - which is kind of a thing that i'm old
enough to have a grasp of yet, not fully understandings the workings of the
procedures that govern full-bloodied spite. Some would distract from
difficult issues by obfuscation and pathetic resorts to humour or by
overheated conflation, like this some.
Piles of stones, outsize Disney costumes, in the muddy field at dawn,
broadcast 'live' to THE World until death do us shut the fuck up or get
banged on the shin and cry ouch!" (part quote, part dialogue)
yours, in solidarity (all of the above)
i embody all that i most must hate and fear (as somebody once said, or
maybe I've deliberately misquoted it or maybe I said it and don't remember
rewriting it)
love and love
cris
