Thanks for the interesting post.
I thought it was implicit in poststructural and postmodern theorising
that aesthetic value judgments should not be made. And this was why so
many poets of previous centuries (particularly female) were being dragged
squalling out of their graves. If you dont want a strong `I' voice in
poetry but want lots of little insubstantial voices as in postmodernism
then there are no value judgments to be made. The laundry list does as
well as the sonnet. So very minor writing is being overpromoted and
giving sustenance to academics desperate for publication material.
I am just half-an-hour out of the Archduke so I will go make myself
a coffee to calm me done. I hope I got the gist of my muzzy thinking down.
