Just wanted to say a big 'yes' to Tony Frazer's posting. All this 'them' and
'us' stuff is really tiresome. Poetry is not a great big nation but a
collection of small enclaves who hate each other's guts - or so it seems
reading postings here and derisory reviews of 'cutting edge' writing in
Poetry Review and elsewhere. What I'd like to see is readings with Simon
Armitage and Allen Fisher on the same platform or collaborative work between
supposedly opposed poets. Well, I can dream can't I? I suggested this to
Andrew Duncan about a year ago and he wanted he know what the point would
be. I guess we're all happier moaning and festering in our respective
windowless cellars.
