Interesting post. I was thinking about Leonard Cohen settling for the
music route when he realised the listening audience compared with the
sales of his books of poetry.
Speaking personally it is very gratifying to have an audience
even if you dont know who they are. I probably
get more readers off the Internet than if I were
a run-of-the-mill Faber or Bloodaxe poet. I hope it lasts.
But of course there are no reviews in the magazines.
My advice is get your Web space and learn some basic HTML.
And these Runrig CDs I bought on Tuesday are great. Probably
their best release since `Recovery' and `Heartland'.
I am a poetry publisher. The future of poetry publishing is the Web.
