Jethro Cadbury is one of my closest friends - and, incidentally, a good
friend to many poets, though they don't know it, as he does a lot of
spadework behind a number of projects. He's a man of principle.
Anyway, you can read about him on Page 9 of today's Times, following his
sacking for _gross misconduct_
Basically, South Thames College would appear to have set aside the principle
of academic freedom
If you can't buy the paper, it's on the Times web; if you can't manage that
I imagine it would be ok for me to backchannel it individually in the
furtherance of your education without breaking copyright
When you have read the story, if you think it is an issue, *do pass it on.
These things should be aired. It is an issue of great interest to all of us.
I am out of teaching now for associated reasons - but that Carshalton
College
For what it's worth as far as I know the story is accurate in all details
