There is another view based only on experience and knowledge of how they
work rather than trying to significance external to the systems - though I
am all for that -
and that view is that with apple os you get something resembling the
phenomenal world - once you get used to viewing the world like a captive
fish - whereas DOS is only logical and predictable ONCE you have fathomed
its modes and methods of operation... which means that most never find it
logical and predictable
I dont know the Eco or dont remember it so I dont know how he came to that,
but from my point of view it would be the reverse of that suggested with DOS
mediaeval -
