Dear Pete and Lyn of British Columbia! Thank you so much for your welcome -
I was so excited I ran to tell the Producer of the Comedy Zone Website of
beeb @ the BBC where I work as a PA (Internet Ignorant, I'm having to learn
fast at the heart of the BBC!) ........
Would love to hear (do you do audio clips?) or see one of your poems, based
on your antiphrastic glow of sadness!
As for the wood in Canada - it was in Nova Scotia in a hermitage by a frozen
lake in a community of Carmelite Monks who "live alone together" in the
wood. I read about them in England in a book called "Holy Daring" - and I
thought "I have to go......so I faxed the hermits...(to a post office 40
miles away, but near enough to find them) and they faxed me back!.....then I
was given a free ticket by an air hostess friend to go and stay in the wood,
since destiny decided - and after that experience I knew that poetry was the
call...........
Actually, the terrible news is that someone call Irving has bought huge
tracts of Nova Scotia and the beloved Narnia like wood is being logged 24
hours a day on an 84 year programme - and the wonderful wilderness and all
its impassioned inspiration is being lost. Have you heard about it on
Canadian Television? How much I would long to return but I fear that in this
particular instance Paradise is most mechanically being Lost to the "techno
barbaric juggernaut" as one of the hermits said.....
Do tell me if I'm not meant to put the whole poet - list address at the top
of the e-mail - I'm still learning how it works.
With love from London, TV Centre BBC to British Columbia and all the wild
woods of Canada....
Sarah

Subject: Welcome List Virigin
from the politically incorrect west coast of British Columbia! Good
spirited introduction of yourself: stage paint & all. I used a
cryptic
"Self Portrait in a Kaleidoscope" including reference to "made up
lips
glabbered/ with the antiphrastic glow of sadness" but snared reply
nary
one - unless Cris Cheek, ever the gent, did send one in. Anyway
this is
YOUR WELCOME & so you are. Liked especially your responding to
ancient
celtic job-description.
Lastly - which wood in Canada? And when? And why leave?
