Just a thought about the matter of the Poetry Review
and whether its circulation plummeted or merely declined or neither
during the editorship of Eric Mottram.
The Poetry Review was automatically circulated to all members
of the Poetry Society.
For members outside of London and not regular attendees at meetings
the Review was doubtless their main reason for membership.
So when comparing the sales figure for the Review
some comparison needs to made with the figures for
membership of the Poetry Society.
>From that one could probably then estimate what
the extra sales to non-members were.
What conclusion anyone makes from the figures
I have no idea
but they are just as relevant as the cover price
and do need to be taken into account.
