I had better comment on this.
William Neill is dead, I believe. I reviewed a book by Gerry Cambridge
recently and found a marvellous long poem about an old crofter weeping
over his wasted life but that was about all in the book. Jacky Kay's
followup to the brilliant Adoption Papers was mediocre in my opinion.
Annie MacLeod I have noticed recently in the magazines and I havent
been impressed. I have never noticed Maureen Sangster. I should say
Annie has been getting a bit of hype lately.
William Neill was a sterling poet. I hope I have his Selected upstairs.
I must look my catalogue. He wasnt top-class but an able craftsman.
