Nonparametric Estimation in Insurance

Abstract: This talk will be an overview of various nonparametric
estimation problems in insurance mathematics,
including estimation of the adjustment coefficient
and estimation of the distribution of the aggregate claims.
Speaker: Susan Pitts read Maths at Cambridge, and went on to do a PGCE.
She became a Maths teacher at secondary level, and taught at
schools in Saffron Walden, Cambridge and Tunbridge Wells. Ten years
after graduation she studied for an MSc in Statistics, followed by a PhD,
at Imperial College. She was then a Lecturer in the Department of
Statistical Science at University College London for six years,
and is currently a University Lecturer in the Statistical Laboratory in
Cambridge.
Directions: Head north on Milton Rd. Two traffic lights before the A14
turn left into the Science Park (clearly signposted). Turn left at the
roundabout. Cambridge Consultants Limited is on the right in approx
200 yards. Parking is available on site. There will be no admittance
after 7:45.
