STATISTICIAN : CANCER SCREENING EVALUATION UNIT ,
INSTITUTE OF CANCER RESEARCH, SUTTON, SURREY
The Cancer Screening Evaluation Unit is a Department
of Health funded Research Unit based at the Institute of
Cancer Research and is engaged in research projects into
the effectiveness of screening for a number of different
cancers.
A vacancy exists for a statistician to work on a new project
on the evaluation of the national cervical screening
programme, involving the analysis of data from a variety
of sources. Applicants should have a postgraduate
qualification in statistics (preferably medical
statistics), and ideally some experiemce in epidemiology or
health services research.
The appointment will be for three years in the first
instance. Suitable applicants would be eligible to
register for a higher degree.
Appointment will be on the lower end of the Non-Clinical
Scientist Grade II scale. Salary will be in the range (include. London Weighting).
£17,866-£21,349.
