MAIN PURPOSE OF POST:
The MRC Child Psychiatry Unit is host to a number of internationally
important longitudinal and clinical studies. An experienced,
enthusiastic and reliable person is required to assist in the ongoing
task of maintaining, archiving and documenting these studies and to
contribute to their statistical analysis. The post-holder will need
to transfer data between database systems, undertake a limited
amount
of data validation, checking and correction, and extend internal
documentation. The postholder will be expected to be able to use a
range of PC based database and statistics programs (SPSS in
particular). The post-holder will also be expected to organise
long-term physical storage and paper documentation. Experience
of
working on other long-term research studies would be an advantage.

Mandatory Formal Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
A good degree and experience of datamanagement and analysis on
a PC.
Experience working on other long-term research studies. Good
communications skills. Report writing.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Postgraduate qualification in statistics, computing or psychology.
