Dear Elizabeth,
At Swansea we hold the degree congregations in the City's Brangwyn Hall.
The janitorial staff of the building are all qualified first aiders. In
addition many of my secretarial and clerical staff who staff the
entrances to take tickets etc. are also qualified. As a final back-up,
the University Director of Occupational Health, who is a qualified
doctor, attends as many of the ceremonies as he can. We have had to
use his services in recent years due to a member of the audience
collapsing during one of the ceremonies.
I hope this is helpful,
Yours sincerely,
Robert V Barnes,
Director of Registry and Academic Registrar.
